No manual intervention is required if you are operating a Helium Hotspot or RAK Hotspot Miner. You will be automatically updated when the OTA is released to General Availability.
Other manufacturers will need to update their fleets and owners will need to wait on their manufacturer to push an update to their Hotspot. DIY will need to manually update and Docker builds will kick off as soon as we tag the GA.
We have been beta testing 2021.07.13.1 since July 13th, 2021 1:30 PM PT. Current ETA for GA is 5:30 PM PT, July 13th, 2021.

Hotspot firmware release which contains snapshot ingestion improvements and a newly blessed snapshot. This is a mandatory release for Hotspot owners and manufacturers to continue syncing with newly blessed snapshots.
This release contains a much newer snapshot for block height 920126, and follows on the emergency release on the weekend to make it even easier for older Hotspots to sync by eliminating some time-consuming and unnecessary work. It also fixes a bug in snapshot loading that caused some Hotspots that loaded the last snap to halt and stop syncing. Finally, this release fixes a rare issue with restarting that can cause some Hotspots to halt until a corrupted cache file was manually deleted.
