Run the Windows troubleshooter for Microsoft Edge. To do this, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Microsoft Edge > Run the troubleshooter.
Clear your browsing data: Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data. Check all the boxes and choose the time range “All time”, then click “Clear now”. This will delete your browsing history, cookies, and cache, which may be causing the issue.
Reset Microsoft Edge: Go to Settings > Reset settings, then click “Restore settings to their default values”. This will reset all settings and data in Microsoft Edge to their default values.
Disable hardware acceleration: In the Edge browser, click the three dots in the upper right corner, select Settings, and then click System on the left. Turn off the switch of “Use hardware acceleration when available”. Restart Edge and check if it works.
Restart your computer: Sometimes, restarting your computer can solve some browser problems, so try restarting your computer and then try opening Microsoft Edge again.
Try using another user account: Sometimes, user account problems may also cause problems with Microsoft Edge. Try logging in to Windows with another user account and then try opening Microsoft Edge again.
Check your firewall and anti-virus software: Some firewalls and anti-virus software may block access to Microsoft Edge. Please check your firewall and anti-virus software settings to ensure that Microsoft Edge is allowed to access the Internet.
You can create a new account by following these steps to see if the username and password can be saved properly under the new account
Search for CMD and run it in administrator mode and enter the following command
net user USERNAME PASSWORD /add
net localgroup administrators USERNAME /add
USERNAME PASSWORD can be replaced with the account name and password you want, if you don’t need the password you can leave out the PASSWORD
If there is no problem under the new account, this should be a fault in the account profile, please refer to the following article to transfer your profile to the new account.
