How to disable Cortana and speedup search.
Some suggest using RegEdit but as of recent 04/2018 the RegKey locations have changed.
Here is a way, by updating Windows Group Policy
Hit the Start key,
search for Edit group policy, and open it.
Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Search.
Find Allow Cortana, and double-click to open it.
Click Disabled, and then hit OK.
