The core developers will be issuing a chain variable shortly that will increase the Consensus Group size from 16 to 28. This has been possible thanks to yesterday’s release of Validators.
Increasing the Consensus Group size improves network security and reliability. With more members in the group, individual Validators will notice a reduction in a single epoch reward as the number of participants will be larger per cycle.
This change has no Hotspot Mining impact and no action is required on anyone’s part.
We will update this post with audit and Explorer links once the chain variable is accepted by the Consensus Group.
