Today we are announcing the acquisition by Cambium Networks (NASDAQ: CMBM) of the Xirrus wireless business from Riverbed Technology. Following two years as part of Riverbed, this acquisition brings Xirrus back to a company focused on delivering best-in-class wireless networking solutions.
If you are not familiar with Cambium Networks, we are a global next gen wireless infrastructure company with a broad range of point-to-point (backhaul infrastructure), point-to-multipoint (wide area distribution), cloud managed Wi-Fi and switching solutions for enterprise, industrial and service provider network operators.
We are excited to have the Xirrus team, technology, partners and customers join Cambium Networks. Xirrus’ solutions will complement and extend our existing Wi-Fi portfolio, particularly for high-performance applications and cloud managed services. Our fixed wireless broadband point-to-point and point-to-multipoint solutions open opportunities for extending your wireless network. We are particularly excited to collaborate on the initial releases of 802.11ax technology to bring advanced cloud-managed cost-effective Wi-Fi 6 solutions to you.
