April 2020 Newsletter
Last month, we made Airtable Pro free for humanitarian groups working on COVID-19 relief efforts . Since then, we’ve heard so many incredible stories of how these organizations are helping people in need. Here’s a couple of themes we’re seeing:
- Matching requests to resources : Project N95 is coordinating PPE delivery to hospitals from global suppliers, while Meals for the NHS is delivering meals to hospital staff.
- Matching volunteers to needs : Mask Force and Make Masks are two organizations crowdsourcing volunteers for DIY PPE creation; meanwhile, Chris Dancy has open-sourced a template for neighborhoods to connect neighbors with skills and resources to help out neighbors in need.
- Making information repositories for local communities : the city government of Westminster is mapping local organizations and resources for its residents here; Curbside KC is helping to support Kansas City businesses by making a database of local restaurants’ takeout and delivery options.
Many of the orgs that we’ve worked with have open-sourced their bases on Airtable Universe: we’re compiling all of them here so that everybody can check them out, and potentially bring them to their own communities.
If you are part of a group working on COVID-19 relief efforts and you think your project could benefit from our Pro plan offer, please let us know: fill out this form and we’ll get back to you within approximately one business day.

5 new blocks from 5 trusted partners
We’ve been working closely with five of our partners to introduce some new blocks, all of which allow you to make use of their category-leading services directly inside your Airtable base. Say hello to Pexels block, Formstack Documents block, Miro block, Typeform block, and Loom block!
Are you a developer looking to connect your tool to the Airtable ecosystem? Please fill out this form; we’d love to get in touch!
Rich text formatting for long text fields
In case you haven’t seen it yet, we recently released new text formatting options for long text fields! That means you can style your text with bold , italic , headers, checkboxes, bullet points, and more. To try it out, go the customize field menu, select the long text field type, and turn on the “Enable rich text formatting” toggle.
New beta: Jira block
We’re looking for users on Pro and Enterprise plans to beta test our new Jira block, which imports projects from Jira into Airtable. Sign up for beta access today!
9 templates for transitioning to remote work
We’re grateful to be part of a community that prioritizes sheltering in place in order to protect the healthcare, delivery, and other frontline workers who cannot. To help make the transition to remote work as smooth as possible—for those who are able to do so—we’ve compiled a list of nine templates for more effective remote collaboration.
We’re hiring: Implementation Specialists
Airtable is still hiring, and in particular, we’re building our Implementation Specialists team. As an Implementation Specialist, you’ll work closely with Enterprise customers to build out custom Airtable workflows and solve complex business needs. If you’re an Airtable expert with deep product knowledge, top-notch problem-solving skills, and a love of database design, you could be the candidate we’re looking for!
(You can also see all the other roles we’re hiring for on our careers site!)
